Family Planning Among Muslim Women in Türkiye: The Role of Sinful Beliefs, Sexual Function, and Violence

Özet
This study was conducted to determine the effects of violence, sexual function, and sinful beliefs on family planning in Muslim women of reproductive age. A cross-sectional design was used. The study was conducted with 915 women of reproductive age who presented to family health centers between September 2020 and September 2021. In the study, women's mean score on the family planning attitude scale was 129.16 +/- 28.80, and 53.2% had a risk of sexual dysfunction. Factors, such as the education level, using family planning methods, exposure to sexual violence, sin beliefs, and sexual function, affected the family planning. Health personnel can determine the status of exposure to violence, sinful belief, and sexual functions in women of reproductive age and provide education and counseling to reduce the impact of these factors on family planning attitudes.
