This study focuses on the metaphorical perceptions of mathematics of the students at different levelsof education at primary, secondary and high school levels and the change in the direction of metaphors wasdetermined according to the grade level of the students. For this purpose, phenomenological design which is oneof the qualitative research method is used. The study was conducted with 607 students who were studying atdifferent schools of the Ministry of National Education. 102 of these students are primary, 345 are middle and 160are high school students. An interview form was prepared to reveal the metaphors of the students and the studentswere asked to answer these questions. When the answers of students were analyzed, it was observed that there wasno negative analogy in the primary school, whereas there were negative analogies in the middle school studentsand a high rate in high school students.
