Investigation of Parcel and Line Densities in Land Consolidation Projects
(Univ Namik Kemal, 2024) Arslan, Firat; Degirmenci, Hasan
Land consolidation can be considered as a rural revitalization project encompassing the aggregation of fragmented parcels, the creation of agricultural parcels suitable for farming, the organization of rural roads, and the establishment of irrigation and drainage systems, alongside the provision of sociocultural facilities. These evaluation methods can assist policymakers, land administrators, and decision-makers, especially considering the rapid progress of land consolidation projects in T & uuml;rkiye, in improving these projects that require high costs and significant efforts. In the monitoring and evaluation of land consolidation projects, numerous researchers have developed methods. In land consolidation projects, among the project objectives are achieving the optimal parcel size due to the growth of enterprise and providing road services to all parcels.Research in the literature is still lacking in terms of evaluating the distances of parcels from the village centre and the densities of the rural roads constructed in land consolidation projects, in addition to the optimal parcel size. The use of geographic information systems (GIS) can be valuable in the evaluation of land consolidation projects, as GIS-generated maps not only aid in assessment but also provide easily understandable interpretations. The aim of this study is to examine road lengths before and after a land consolidation project, as well as the spatial changes of parcels, using geographic information systems. The cadastral data of Tatk & imath;nl & imath;k Village in Arguvan District of Malatya Province constitute the main material of the research. In line with this objective, geospatial analyses were conducted using Kernel Density and Line Density tools. The ArcMAP program's Model Builder Tool was employed to process the data obtained from NetCAD. As a result of the research, itwas observed that road density increased in areas where parcel sizes decreased. The regions with the highest parcel and road density are situated around the village centre. In addition to the optimal size of agricultural operations, the distance to the village centre also affects fuel expenses. Therefore, the aggregation of small-scale parcels around the village centre can be considered one of the indicators of success for land consolidation projects. Density analyses can assist decision-makers in evaluating, interpreting, and determining priority land consolidation areas.Additionally, the indicators for road lengths developed in this study can be utilized in studies conducted on road lengths.

(Marmara Univ, Inst Health Sciences, 2025) Ozkan, lknur; Kar, Murat; Taylan, Secil
Objective: Sexual dysfunction, a key component of adults' quality of life, is under-studied in allergic rhinitis. This study aimed to compare sexual dysfunction in individuals with and without allergic rhinitis and to examine the effects of physiological, psychological, and situational factors, as conceptualized by the Theory of Unpleasant Symptoms. Methods: This descriptive and between-groups comparative study was conducted between September 2020 and September 2021 in the otorhinolaryngology outpatient clinic. Data were collected from 249 patients with allergic rhinitis and 235 healthy individuals using validated scales that assess depression, anxiety, fatigue, sleep quality, nasal symptoms, and sexual function. Logistic regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with sexual dysfunction. Results: Compared to the healthy group, individuals with allergic rhinitis had more sexual dysfunction, sleep problems, fatigue, depression, anxiety, and nasal and non-nasal symptoms (p<.01). Based on the results of logistic regression analysis, factors contributing to sexual dysfunction in women with allergic rhinitis included anxiety, depression, the presence of asthma, and the severity of physiological symptoms (Nagelkerke R-2: 0.345; Model: x(2)= 18.759 p= .000). Factors affecting sexual dysfunction in men with allergic rhinitis were determined as sleep quality, depression, the severity of physiological symptoms, fatigue, and smoking (Nagelkerke R-2: 0.194; Model: x(2)= 17.761; p= .023). Conclusions: Sexual dysfunction in allergic rhinitis patients is influenced by a range of symptoms, as outlined by the Unpleasant Symptoms Theory. These findings highlight the need for targeted intervention programs to manage sexual dysfunction by addressing both illness symptoms and related factors.

(Marmara Univ, Inst Health Sciences, 2023) Aydin, Zeliha Ugur; Altunbas, Demet; Akdere, Sevim Kosumcu; Meseci, Buera; Cankaya, Tulin Dogan
Objective: The purpose of this study was to use confocal laser microscopy analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of conventional needle irrigation (CNI), EndoActivator (EA), and EDDY during endodontic retreatment. Methods: This study included 45 maxillary incisor teeth with a single root and canal. Root canals were prepared with ProTaper Universal files (Dentsply Sirona, Ballaigues, Switzerland) and obturated with labeled sealer mixed with 0.1% Rhodamine B and gutta percha according to single cone techniques. Initial root canal filling material was removed using ProTaper Universal Retreatment files and F4 files. Teeth randomly were divided into 3 groups (n = 15) depending on the activation technique: CNI, EA (Dentsply, Tulsa Dental Specialties, Tulsa, OK), and EDDY (VDW, Munich, Germany). Confocal laser microscopy was used to evaluate the penetration area, depth, and percentage of the residual sealer in the apical, middle, and coronal sections after irrigation activation. Results: In all sections, the EDDY group had a lower penetration area of residual sealer than the CNI group (P< .05). In comparison to the coronal section, the penetration percentage of the CNI and EA groups was lower in the apical section (P< .05). In the CNI group, the penetration depth was higher at the coronal section than at the apical and middle sections (P< .05), and it was higher at the coronal section than at the apical section. Conclusion: Within the limitations of this study, none of the activation systems tested could completely remove the residual sealer. However, the lowest residual sealer was seen after using EA and EDDY.

New Stage in the Regulation of Global Public Goods: Regulatory Capitalism
(Economic And Financial Research Assoc - Efad, 2023) Gulsen, Mustafa Alpin
The theoretical abstract structure of the regulations emerges as a phenomenal reality, with the phenomenon of regulator capitalism. In this context, regulator capitalism refers to the transformation of the relationship between society and the state into a business-state relationship with a different division of labor structure. This indicates that global regulators play an active role in the provision of global public goods and services. In the study, the public organization model transformed by regulator capitalism is handled as a transition from bureaucracy to regulocracy. This failure of regulator capitalism is examined in the framework of the regulator capture in this study. While regulocracy refers to the social layer of the new system, which consists of experts and has universal solutions, the regulator capture states that the regulating companies will evolve into the regulator position after aAwhile. While this structure of regulatory capitalism reveals aAnew division of labor, it also obscures the accountability of public services between society and the state. Such ambiguity has caused representative democracy to be replaced by indirect representative democracy. AsAa result, the public sector has moved away from public financial management principles such as transparency and accountability.

(Economic And Financial Research Assoc - Efad, 2025) Vatansever, Kemal; Bayraktar, Tuba
Measuring corporate financial performance is crucial for maintaining competitive advantage, achieving profitability targets, and ensuring business continuity. The primary aim of this study is to evaluate the financial performance of manufacturing companies listed in the Borsa & Idot;stanbul (BIST) Participation Sustainability Index (XSRDK) between 2018 and 2023 by employing the multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods MEREC and COBRA. The dataset consists of 13 manufacturing firms included in the index and eight financial ratios used as evaluation criteria. In the analysis, the MEREC method was applied to determine the weights of the criteria, while the COBRA method was used to rank the firms. A sensitivity analysis was conducted to assess the robustness of the results. Comparisons with alternative MCDM methods and weighting approaches revealed strong correlations across the yearly rankings, supporting the consistency and reliability of the proposed MEREC-COBRA approach in financial performance evaluation.

IMPLEMENTATION OF COMPUTATION FORMULAS FOR CERTAIN CLASSES OF APOSTOL-TYPE POLYNOMIALS AND SOME PROPERTIES ASSOCIATED WITH THESE POLYNOMIALS
(Ankara Univ, Fac Sci, 2021) Kucukoglu, Irem
The main purpose of this paper is to present various identities and computation formulas for certain classes of Apostol-type numbers and polynomials. The results of this paper contain not only the lambda-Apostol-Daehee numbers and polynomials, but also Simsek numbers and polynomials, the Stirling numbers of the first kind, the Daehee numbers, and the Chu-Vandermonde identity. Furthermore, we derive an in finite series representation for the lambda-Apostol-Daehee polynomials. By using functional equations containing the generating functions for the Cauchy numbers and the Riemann integrals of the generating functions for the lambda-Apostol-Daehee numbers and polynomials, we also derive some identities and formulas for these numbers and polynomials. Moreover, we give implementation of a computation formula for the lambda-Apostol-Daehee polynomials in Mathematica by Wolfram language. By this implementation, we also present some plots of these polynomials in order to investigate their behaviour in some randomly selected special cases of their parameters. Finally, we conclude the paper with some comments and observations on our results.

Location and Capacity Planning of Freight Villages: The Case of Türkiye
(Mehmet Akif Ersoy Univ, 2024) Gumus, Mehmet; Aydogmus, Hacer Yumurtaci; Ozder, Emir Huseyin
Freight villages are logistics hubs where distribution and storage related activities meet. Determining their locations and capacities is a strategically important yet a difficult problem due to its complex structure. This paper provides a mixed integer linear programming model for identifying the locations, number, and capacities of freight villages. Objective is to set up a distribution network and minimize its total cost. The proposed model is computationally efficient as the optimal solution can be found within minutes. The model is applied using real life data in Turkey. The application includes major container ports as supply points and all cities as demand points, which are also alternative locations for freight villages. Optimal solution provides a plan and a budget to build the required capacity and number of logistics villages dispersed geographically. Sensitivity analysis is also conducted to investigate the system -wide costs and derive insights when there is a limit on the number of freight villages.

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Improves Hippocampal N-Acetlaspartate Levels and Visual Memory Scores in Alzheimer's Disease
(Turkish Neuropsychiatry Assoc-Turk Noropsikiyatri Dernegi, 2024) Velioglu, Halil Aziz; Sayman, Dila; Hanoglu, Lutfu; Akan, Gulhan Ertan; Cankaya, Seyda; Yulug, Burak
The latest research into the pathophysiology of Alzheimer's Disease (AD) has included several cognitive deficits related to hippocampal functioning. However, current clinical research fails to consider the full extent of the heterogeneous cognitive spectrum of AD, resulting in a lack of the specific methods required to draw definitive diagnostic and therapeutic conclusions. This also includes in-vivo metabolic measurements for tailoring the diagnostic and therapeutic regimens in humans with AD. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy and repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) are two novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches that must be modified to treat AD. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the underlying therapeutic role of rTMS in humans with AD by evaluating the in -vivo hippocampal metabolites before and after rTMS treatment. Based on the data obtained using the fMRI data in our previous study and on the references reported in the literature, in the present study, we decided to use hippocampal NAA data after rTMS stimulation and found a significant increase in NAA levels. To the best of our knowledge, no other study has evaluated the effect of rTMS on hippocampal metabolites in humans with AD.

BILATERAL J-CURVE BETWEEN TURKEY AND THE EUROZONE
(Mehmet Akif Ersoy Univ, 2022) Ozdemir, Salih; Topcu, Mert; Emirmahmutoglu, Furkan
A large body of the literature use aggregate data to investigate the validity of the J-curve hypothesis. Recent studies, however, address the importance of disaggregated data in order to prevent aggregation bias. In the case of Turkey where foreign trade volume is largely dominated by the Eurozone countries, one set of studies examines the J-curve phenomenon using total trade data while the second set of studies investigates the validity of the bilateral J-curve within a time-series framework. This study intends to investigate the validity of the bilateral J-curve between Turkey and the Eurozone over the period 2002:Q1-2019:Q4 within a dynamic panel data framework robust to heterogeneity and cross-section dependence. Results obtained from the Dynamic Common Correlated Effects estimator reveal that the J-Curve hypothesis does not hold given the short-run results.

APPLICATION OF INTERVAL TYPE 2 FUZZY AHP METHOD IN BANK SELECTION PROCESS OF AN SME
    (Mehmet Akif Ersoy Univ, 2023) Aydogmus, Ufuk; Aydogmus, Hacer Y. U. M. U. R. T. A. C., I; Karaman, Davut; Yildiz, Ali; Can, Melih
The banking sector is vital for world economies. Although there are broader definitions, the banking sector can be expressed as a sub-sector of the larger financial services industry, which also includes sub-sectors focusing on insurance, venture capital and private equity. One of the most important functions of the said sector is to protect the assets of depositors and to provide loans to individuals and businesses. Individuals consider many criteria in order to receive this service and choose the most suitable bank for them and work with that bank. It is known that the biggest challenge in front of the growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is the lack of access to finance. It is important that bank financings can be the main potential source of external financing for the growth of SMEs and on which criteria the bank should be selected based on which this financing can be provided. In this direction, the criteria and sub-criteria that SMEs consider during the bank selection stage were determined in the study and the most suitable alternative bank was selected by using the Interval Type 2 Fuzzy AHP method.

Prognostic Factors For Functional Outcome in Patients with Mesencephalic Hemorrhage
(Turkish Neuropsychiatry Assoc-Turk Noropsikiyatri Dernegi, 2023) Oktem, Ece Ozdemir; Kumral, Emre; Bayam, Fatma Ece; Ozsimsek, Ahmet; Dorukoglu, Mehmet Mesut; Cankaya, Seyda; Yulug, Burak
Introduction: Mesencephalic hemorrhage (MH) is a rare presentation of spontaneous intraparenchymal hemorrhage. This study aims to evaluate prognostic parameters of the MH outcome. Methods: We conducted an extensive search in the literature for cases with spontaneous, isolated mesencephalic hemorrhage. The study was conducted according to the statement of Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA). Sixty-two eligible cases have been reported in the literature as proven by CT or MRI, and to these, we added six cases confirmed by MRI. The modified Rankin Scale (mRS) was dichotomized into two groups as the favorable outcome (FO; score, 0-2) and unfavorable outcome (UO; score, 3-6). Results: Of the 68 patients studied, 26 (38%) presented with normal consciousness, 22 (32%) with lethargy, and 20 (29%) with stupor or coma. There was no cause of hemorrhage in 26 (65%) patients with FO and 12 (43%) with UO (p=0.059). In univariate analyses, neither arteriovenous malformations (p=0.33) nor cavernomas (p=0.19) were associated with outcome. Multiple logistic regression analysis revealed that hypertension (OR, 51.22; CI95%, 1.92-1370.24; P=0.019), consciousness (OR, 133.54; CI95%, 1.61-1113.3; P=0.03), NIHSS at admission (OR, 57.23; CI95%, 2.87-1141.2; p=0.008), and ventrodorsal hemorrhage size (=1 cm) (OR, 61.83; CI95%, 2.15-1779.2; p=0.016) were significantly associated with UO. Three months after stroke, 40 patients (59%) had FO, 28 (41%) had UO, and 8 (12%) died. Conclusion: These results suggest that ventrodorsal size of hemorrhage and clinical severity at stroke onset are possible predictors of functional outcome after mesencephalic hemorrhage.

Creation of spatial virtual environments for touristic purposes: A case study of Istanbul's Historical Peninsula
(Geomatik Journal, 2023) Buhur, Sancar; Ulugtekin, Nesibe Necla; Guemuesay, Mustafa Uemit; Musaoglu, Nebiye
The spread of three-dimensional (3D) city models has made it possible to present spatial information about cities in 3D and thus to increase the spatial perceptions of users. With the CityGML standard developed in this context, the concept of level of detail (LoD) for 3D spatial data has started to be used instead of the concept of scale traditionally used for maps. Thus, standards have been set for the production of urban models at different levels of detail according to different application requirements. In this study, by using airborne LiDAR data, a 3D city model for touristic purposes at LoD3 is created for Eminonu Square and its surroundings within the borders of Istanbul Historical Peninsula. As the model is designed for touristic purposes, the level of detail of structures which are not located in the region where the buildings selected as references, is reduced by using the 3D building generalization method. In the game engine-based presentation, the integration of the model with OpenStreetMap (OSM) is provided so that users could access location and address information while interactively navigating within the model and the information content of the model is enriched with the attributes added to the structures.

BEE HOUSE AS A TECTONIC/ATECTONIC CONFIGURATION IN THE CONTEXT OF VERNACULAR ARCHITECTURE: DEREKÖY-KUMLUCA EXAMPLES
(E.U. Printing And Publishing House, 2024) Yilmaz Erkovan, Nisa; Ozgenel, Lale
Vernacular architecture generally refers to residential buildings and structures with non-residential uses, such as warehouses and barracks, built with traditional construction methods in local and rural contexts at different settlement scales such as neighborhoods, villages and districts. In this sense, it is an inclusive concept and expresses the living practices and architectural culture of traditional societies in both spatial and environmental terms. Animal structures, which are constructed with similar traditional methods are also examples of vernacular architecture. Among the typological structures built for the use of animals, there are those that stand out with their construction system, such as the bee house. Bee houses are built in rural contexts to house beehives and protect them from wild animals, thieves and extreme climatic conditions. They are built according to the local characteristics and material possibilities of the context in which they are located and are among the original typologies of rural architecture. There are examples of bee houses in various regions of Turkey, especially in the Mediterranean Basin and the Taurus Mountains, where different types are found. They are built with local materials such as stone and wood, and differ in terms of the structural design and form of the body, and the superstructure rising above the body. The typological diversity of bee houses holds the potential to conceptually understand, interpret and make sense of their structural logic and contextual identity. Based on this, the authors conducted a series of field studies in previous seasons to document and classify bee houses found in the Mediterranean Region and identified three main typological categories with subgroups: Bee House with Wooden Platform on a Body of Rubble Stone and Wooden Beams, Bee House with Wooden Platform Fixed to an Existing Tree Trunk, Bee House without a Body and Surrounded by a Perimeter Wall. In a recent field study, six bee houses are identified in the Derek & ouml;y village located in the Kumluca district of Antalya. The group presents a typology different from the bee houses previously identified by the authors in the Mediterranean Basin, and is classified as Bee House with a Wooden Body and Rubble Stone Fill. In the first part of this article, a brief introduction of the previously identified bee house typologies is made, and as a fourth typology, Derek & ouml;y examples are examined in terms of context, material, material assemblage, construction method and function. In the second part, this documentation is used to interpret the construction logic and architectural idea of the bee houses through concepts of tectonics/atectonics, structure and construction. It is also highlighted that the documentation and discussion of bee houses built with the traditional approach, whose use is gradually decreasing and being replaced by modern techniques and materials, has become a pressing issue in terms of their preservation and sustainability in the rural built environment and vernacular architecture. In this sense, an important aim of the study is to develop the typology, literature and discussions put forward in the previous studies on bee houses identified in the rural areas of Antalya.

Bitcoin Mining in Turkey as an Example of Speculative Entrepreneurship
(Istanbul Univ, Sch Business, 2022) Uymaz, Ali Osman; Esmen, Ali Riza
The main purpose of this study is to determine the dimensions of speculative entrepreneurship for Turkish Bitcoin miners and to determine the motivational factors for becoming entrepreneurs in this area. The study was designed as a quali-tative study where data was collected from a sample of 13 Bitcoin miners. The collected data was analyzed and coded thorough thematic analysis. After determining each participant's profile, a narrative analysis was conducted to ensure the integrity of the research. Some of the key common characteristics determined were awareness, arbitrage, and high-profit expectations, whereas the self-manipulation feature was determined to be low. The key motivation for Participants for investing in Bitcoin was the absence of central management, the beginning of a new financial structure outside the exist-ing system, the opportunity for absolute privacy, and the excessive interest of society, which would serve as a leverage for arbitrage, with high profit expectation. With their increased level of awareness and knowledge, Bitcoin miners saw the opportunity for arbitrage. As speculative entrepreneurs, Bitcoin miners were aware of the extreme nature of the risk of investing in Bitcoin to gain highly desirable and expected profit by using the arbitrage opportunity in the existing system.

Operation Parameters Variation of Air Source Heat Pump According to the Outdoor Temperature
    (Gazi Univ, 2023) Sezen, Kutbay
Air source heat pumps (ASHP), known as energy efficient systems, emerge as environmentally friendly and economical solutions for building heating. Unfortunately, the operating parameters of ASHPs and accordingly their performance are directly affected by the daily and seasonal temperature changes of the outside air. In this study, change in operation parameters of a selected ASHP with 3.4kW nominal heating capacity is investigated with a calculation method based on the logarithmic mean temperature difference, between -10 degrees C to 18 degrees C outdoor temperature range with 2 degrees C steps, at constant compressor power. The study is verified with published COP data of the manufacturer. Results are shared with graphs that give the variation of refrigerant evaporation and condensation temperature and pressure, COP, and condenser heating load according to outdoor air temperature. A raise from -10 degrees C to 18 degrees C in outdoor temperature, increases the COP value from 3.38 to 5.49. Detection of the increase in evaporation pressure in parallel with the outdoor temperature may allow easy control of the refrigerant charge level with a manometer. This study can be a useful guide for researchers who aim to determine the outdoor temperature dependent operating parameters of an ASHP and for technical personnel who need this information in fields.

A Q Methodological investigation of students' perspectives on power plants
(Mehmet Tekerek, 2024) Guduk, Sadik Taner; Es, Huseyin; Turkoglu, Ayse Yenilmez
The aim of this research, which was conducted through the use of Q methodology, was to examine eighth grade students' perspectives on power plants (PPs). Suggesting that variables can be replaced by individuals in factor analysis and thus interpersonal factor analysis can be done, Q methodology is a method that aims to examine individuals' self -referenced perspectives by revealing the differences and commonalities of these perspectives; that is, where they are positioned relative to each other in a holistic structure. In this research, a total of 35 Q -statements were presented to a number of 19 eight -grade students, who were attending to a public middle school and were voluntarily participated in the study. Students' Q -sorts resulted in a two -factor solution, meaning that two perspectives emerged towards PPs. The perspectives were named as economy -oriented and science and technology -oriented. Students holding the economy -oriented perspective pointed out to the positive impact of PPs on economy, while others holding the science and technology -oriented perspective specified the contribution of PPs to scientific and technological development.
