    Entrepreneurship in the Tourism Sector with the Perspective of Organizational Ecology: Evidence from Türkiye

    The present study tries to understand “the effect of socio-economic phenomena observed in a certain time interval on the organization-founding behaviors of entrepreneurs in an organization population in the tourism sector.” In this framework, we focus on the tourism sector in Türkiye and use the data of the organizations under the title of “Accommodation and Food Service Activities” in the NACE-2 classification. To see the effects of economic, political, and social phenomena at the macro level, we use the number of tourists (TUR); Hotel, Cafe, and Restaurant Consumer Price Index (HCRCPI); Transportation Services Consumer Price Index (TSCPI); the weighted average of commercial loan rates applied by banks (CLI) and the CPI-based real effective exchange rate (REER) as data. In addition to these variables, we also include two dummy variables, DCov-19 and DTrvl, for the period of the coronavirus pandemic and the period of restricted domestic and international travel, respectively. We use the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach designed by Pesaran and Shin (1999) and Pesaran et al. (2001) in data analysis. The results, which are expected to contribute to organizational theories and business economics, studies on the tourism sector, knowledge of the evaluation of socioeconomic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and future studies, were obtained in the study.

    Sosyologlar ve Örgütler: Türkiye’de Yazılan Doktora Tezlerindeki Eğilimlerin Değerlendirilmesi

    Çalışmada “Türkiye’de sosyoloji bilim alanında örgütlere ilişkin ilgi yıllara göre nasıl bir seyir izlemiştir?” sorusuna cevap aranmaktadır. Bu amaçla Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığı’nın Ulusal Tez Merkezi’ndeki sosyoloji anabilim dalı altında yer alan ve erişime açık olarak sunulan doktora tezleri incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, batıdaki eğilimin aksine, bilhassa da 2000’li yıllardan sonra örgüt sosyolojisine olan ilginin arttığını göstermektedir. Hatta bu süreç içerisinde, yarıya yakın bir oranda eleştirel bir bakış açısının hâkimiyetinde, istikrarlı sayılabilecek bir ilginin varlığından söz etmek olası görünmektedir.

    The Factors Influencing the Public Procurement Organization Structures of Countries: An Analysis on European Union

    The study focused on the reflections of the centralization/decentralization debate, which is one of the main issues in organizational analysis, in the framework of public procurement, which constitutes an important function of public administration. In this context, as the dependent variable, the public procurement organization structures seen in the EU member, candidate, potential candidate, former candidate and former member countries and as independent variables that are thought to affect them, national cultural dimensions, international transparency/corruption perceptions index, per capita national income, population, the width of the country's territory, population density, doing business and logistics performance indices were analyzed. The findings indicate the effects of power distance and indulgence-restraint dimensions, transparency/corruption perceptions, per capita national income, population and logistics performance factors on shaping the public procurement organization structures of countries.

    Ülkelerin Kamu Alımları Örgütlenme Yapılarına Etki Eden Faktörler: Avrupa Birliği Üzerine Bir Analiz

    Çalışmada, örgütsel analizdeki temel meselelerden biri olanmerkezilik/adem-i merkezilik tartışmasının, kamu yönetiminin önemli birişlevini oluşturan kamu alımları çerçevesindeki yansımalarınaodaklanılmıştır. Bu bağlamda, bağımlı değişken olarak, Avrupa Birliği’ne(AB) üye, aday, potansiyel aday, eski aday ve eski üye olan ülkelerdegörülen kamu alımları örgütlenme yapılarıyla bunları etkileyebileceğidüşünülen bağımsız değişkenler olarak ulusal kültürel boyutlar, uluslararasışeffaflık/yolsuzluk algı endeksi, kişi başına ulusal gelir, nüfus, yüzölçümü,nüfus yoğunluğu ile iş yapma kolaylığı ve lojistik performans endekslerianalize tabi tutulmuştur. Bulgular, güç mesafesi ve hoşgörü-kısıtlamaboyutlarıyla şeffaflık/yolsuzluk algısı, kişi başına ulusal gelir, nüfus velojistik performans unsurlarının ülkelerin kamu alım örgütlenme yapılarınınbiçimlenmesindeki etkilerini göstermektedir.
