Öğe Analysing the Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) From the Perspective of Decent Work: A Comparison of the Pre- and Post-COVID-19 Periods(Wiley, 2025) Uymaz, Ali Osman; Arslan, Serdar; Celiker, Nuri; Gursoy, SergenThis study presents a novel approach to COVID-19 impact analysis, delving into the correlation between the pandemic and the unemployment/NEET (youth not in employment, education or training) rates, labour productivity levels and practices regarding basic employee rights of UN member countries and the SDG. It juxtaposes two distinct periods: pre-COVID-19 (2017-2019) and COVID-19 (2020-2022). The study also evaluates the sufficiency/necessity levels of condition variables on SDG for both periods and aims to provide country-specific inferences. The data obtained from three different databases were analysed using symmetric (PLS-SEM) and asymmetric (fsQCA) methods to ensure that the findings are complementary to each other in order to increase the validity of the research. The study's findings unveil a significant negative relationship between NEET and SDG in both periods, with the strength of the relationship intensifying during the COVID-19 period. Importantly, the absence of NEET was identified as the sole necessary condition for the presence of SDG. These findings hold practical implications for policymakers and practitioners and enrich the sustainable development literature.Öğe Predicting Organizational Citizenship Behaviour in Hospitality Businesses with Decision Tree Method(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2024) Celiker, Nuri; Guzeller, Cem OktayThe purpose of this study is to determine the effect of toxic leadership perception, leader-member exchange, job stress and emotional exhaustion to predict organizational citizenship behavior of hotel employees. The study is conducted with 623 participants from four and five-star hotel firms in Alanya which is among the top destinations in Turkey. Decision tree analysis is applied to determine the variables that decisive predicting organizational citizenship behavior of the employees. The external validity of the results obtained with the decision tree model is tested with artificial neural networks. The analysis showed that the most significant variable to predict employee organizational citizenship behaviors is leader-member exchange. Findings are discussed in terms of theoretical and practical implications for hospitality literature and sector practitioners.Öğe Toxic Leadership Scale Development in Hospitality Sector and Scale Item-Bias Analysis(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2025) Celiker, Nuri; Guzeller, Cem OktayThe aim of this study is to develop a valid and reliable toxic leadership scale for the hospitality sector. The research was carried out on two sample groups of employees working in four- and five-star hotels in Alanya, Turkey. Both groups have similar characteristics. There were 336 participants in the first sample group and 623 participants in the second sample group. In order to test the construct validity of the toxic leadership scale, an exploratory factor analysis and 27% sub-upper group comparisons were performed on the first sample group's data. A confirmatory factor analysis and a differential item functioning analysis were performed on the second sample group's data. The reliability of the scale was tested. From the analysis of the psychometric properties of the toxic leadership scale it was determined that the scale has high construct validity and reliability.
