    Innovation leadership through technology transfer: Case of Turkish industry

    Benefits of innovation in business can include efficiencies, growth, and increased competitive advantage, as well as enhanced reputation. Technology companies that create new products or improve existing ones have numerous advantages over companies that simply produce traditional products and services that are not very innovative or cutting edge. In general, innovative strength is associated with multiple factors such as technology transfer, innovation management, leadership, and strategic planning. This study investigates the relative complexities of these factors and their effect on the innovation processes. A comprehensive literature review was conducted to recognize the complexities of these factors as well as to build a research model. The validity of the model was determined using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results of this study will enhance the understanding of the effect of technology transfer and other factors on the innovation processes.

    İnsansız üretimin yapıldığı, robotik sistemler ile otomasyonun üretimin her aşamasında sağlandığı, yapay zeka, makineöğrenimi, bulut bilişim, nesnelerin interneti, katmanlı imalat,simülasyon, akıllı fabrikalar, büyük veri, bulut bilişim ve artırılmış gerçeklik/sanal gerçeklik gibi bileşenlere sahip olan Endüstri 4.0’ın başlaması ile üretimin ana faktörlerinden biri olankalitenin bu bileşenlerden etkilenmeden klasik kalite anlayışı ilekalması beklenemeyecek bir durumdur. Kalite doğrudan üretim ile ilgili olan bir unsurdur ve kullanıma uygunluk derecesidir. Endüstri 4.0’ın getirdiği teknolojik gelişmeler ile artık kalitenin daha düşük maliyet ile ve müşteri beklentilerinin de ötesinde bir mükemmeliyetle sağlanması beklenmektedir. Bu çalışmada Endüstri 4.0 bileşenlerinin kalite performans faktörlerine etkisi incelenerek Kalite 4.0 kavramı açıklanacaktır.

    The impact of technology transfer performance on total quality management and quality performance

    The purpose of this research is to define the critical factors of technology transfer performance (TTP) and to measure its impact on quality performance (QP) and total quality management (TQM). In this study, a questionnaire form was designed and later conducted face to face with manufacturing managers or quality managers of the manufacturing firms in Turkey. Two hundred organizations of the largest 1000 companies according to the classification of Istanbul Chamber of Industry have been evaluated. A model was developed to investigate the relationships among technology transfer performance, quality performance, and total quality management that is based on theoretical considerations. Technology transfer performance has a positive and strong impact on total quality management, but it has no significant impact on quality performance. A positive and strong relationship was determined between total quality management and quality performance. The relationship between technology transfer performance and quality performance has become significant with the mediating role of total quality management. (C) 2016 The Authors.
