Öğe Evaluation of Studies on Professional Ethics in the Field of Education Management(Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat Üniversitesi, 2025) Yakar, Hamza; Altaş, HamideThe aim of this research is to determine the general trends in studies focusing on professional ethics in the field of educational management. In this direction, a total of 71 studies, including 30 articles, 30 postgraduate theses and 11 conference papers accessible without any year restrictions, were examined using the thematic content analysis method. The data has been categorised according to the objectives, methods, ethical themes focused on, and results achieved in the studies. The findings of the analysis show that the studies mainly focused on the topics of ethical leadership and professional ethical behaviour among education managers. The findings of the analysis indicate that the studies primarily focused on the topics of ethical leadership and professional ethical behaviour among education administrators. However, it was determined that organisational ethical climate, ethical culture, and the processes of developing ethical policies at the institutional level were addressed only to a limited extent in the research. This situation reveals that ethical issues in educational institutions are mostly addressed by reducing them to individual behaviour and attitudes, but that there is a greater need for ethical practices to be assessed holistically in relation to institutional structure and school culture. The research concluded that the subject of professional ethics occupies an important place in the literature on educational management; however, it was found that comprehensive studies on ethical leadership, transparency, accountability and the implementation of professional codes of ethics at the organisational level need to be increased in order for ethical culture to develop in a sustainable manner.
