Öğe A review on multi-criteria decision-making in passenger transportation: Trends, methods, and future directions(Elsevier Science Inc, 2026) Kamber, Eren; Yucel, Buse; Gumus, MehmetThis study provides a systematic review of the application of Multi-Criteria Decision-Making (MCDM) methods in passenger transportation. Analyzing 74 studies published between 2009 and 2025, the review classifies research based on transportation modes, methodological approaches, and sustainability dimensions. The findings reveal an increasing preference for fuzzy-based MCDM methods such as Fuzzy-AHP, TOPSIS, VIKOR, and DEMATEL to manage uncertainties in complex decision problems. Although sustainability principles are included in many studies, only a minority treat sustainability as the primary focus. The literature emphasizes service quality evaluation, passenger satisfaction, and system efficiency, with notable gaps in comprehensive sustainabilityfocused models and underexplored domains like maritime passenger safety. Keyword and research area analyses confirm the interdisciplinary nature of the field, linking transportation with engineering, computer science, environmental sciences, and economics. The study concludes with specific future research directions, including user-friendly hybrid MCDM frameworks, real-time data integration, and expanded focus on social and environmental sustainability. These recommendations aim to guide researchers and practitioners toward more inclusive, practical, and sustainable transportation decision-making models.Öğe Akıllı Şehir Kapsamında Demiryollarında Kullanılan LPWAN Teknolojilerinin İncelenmesi: Çok Kriterli Karar Verme Yöntemleri Uygulaması(Demiryolu Mühendisleri Derneği, 2026) Kamber, Eren; Türkyilmaz, Gonca Gül; Yüzgülen, Destan; Aydoğmuş, Ufuk; Aydoğmuş, Hacer YumurtacıBu çalışmanın amacı, akıllı şehir kapsamında kritik bir öneme sahip bir bileşen olan akıllı ulaşım sistemlerinde kullanılabilecek en uygun LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) teknolojilerinin değerlendirilmesidir. Özellikle demiryolu taşımacılığı gibi geniş ölçekli ve kritik altyapı sistemlerinde, bu teknolojilerin doğru seçimi ve uygulanması, akıllı ulaşımın etkinliğini doğrudan etkilemektedir. Akıllı ulaşım kapsamında uygulanacak olan LPWAN teknolojileri ile trafik güvenliği ile ulaşımda verimliliğin artırılması, bilgi akışının hızlandırılması ve kullanıcı memnuniyetinin sağlanması gibi konularda öncelikle iyileşmeler hedeflenmektedir. Çalışmada, şehirlerin sürdürülebilirlik ve teknolojik gelişmeler doğrultusunda yeniden şekillenmesi sürecinde, düşük enerji tüketimi ve geniş kapsama alanı gibi avantajları ile ön plana çıkan LPWAN teknolojilerinden LoRa, Sigfox, NB-IoT, Nwave, DASH7, Qowiso ve LTE-M teknolojileri incelenmiştir. Analiz sürecinde, çok kriterli karar verme yöntemlerinden Entropi ile kriter ağırlıkları belirlenmiş, ardından RAM ve CURLI-2 sıralama yöntemleri kullanılarak, çalışma kapsamında belirlenen kriterler doğrultusunda söz konusu teknolojilerin önem düzeyleri karşılaştırmalı olarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarında ise hem CURLI-2 hem de RAM yöntemleriyle yapılan analizler, demiryollarında LPWAN teknolojilerinden hangilerinin tercih edilmesi gerektiğine dair tutarlı ve karşılaştırmalı bulgular sunmakta, yöntemlerin doğrulayıcı nitelikte sonuçlar ürettiğini göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak, çalışma, akıllı ulaşım sistemlerinde kaynak kullanımını optimize eden ve yaşam kalitesini arttıran LPWAN teknolojilerinin önceliklendirilmesini sağlayarak, karar vericilere stratejik planlama açısından önemli bir katkı sunmaktadır. Uzun vadede şehir planlamasında bu tür teknolojilere yönelik yatırımların artırılması, sürdürülebilir kentleşme hedefleri açısından daha rasyonel bir yaklaşım olacaktır.Öğe Demand Forecasting For Furniture Industry With Multi-Variable Time Series Models(Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat Üniversitesi, 2025) Güngör, Burak; Tokgöz, Emine; Sevinç, Ali; Kamber, Eren; Gümüş, MehmetDemand forecasting is important for businesses in order to be prepared for any adverse situations that may arise in the future. Time series models are a useful and reliable tool for demand forecasting. These models enable businesses to improve planning and decision-making by providing more accurate and reliable demand forecasts. This study aims to forecast the monthly door sales quantities of a business in the furniture industry using various multi-variable Time Series methods. The variable set includes dollar exchange rate, inflation, and interest rates. Models considered and compared are ARIMA-SARIMAX, Multiple Linear Regression and Holt-Winters. Analysis are conducted using real-life sales data obtained for years 2005 to 2019. Required data on the dollar exchange rate, inflation, and interest rates are obtained from the Central Bank of Türkiye. By incorporating these variables, the study aims to enhance the accuracy and reliability of the predictions, providing valuable insights for the industry. Results show that ARIMA-SARIMAX produce more accurate forecasts compared to (Holt-Winters and Multiple Linear Regression. It is observed that the time series model that takes into account the seasonality and trend factors provide better forecast results in the furniture industry. The findings highlight the importance of advanced forecasting methods in maintaining competitive advantage. This approach not only supports strategic planning but also helps in optimizing inventory levels.Öğe ERP selection using picture fuzzy CODAS method(Ios Press, 2021) Aydogmus, Hacer Yumurtaci; Kamber, Eren; Kahraman, CengizThe purpose of this study is to develop an extension of CODAS method using picture fuzzy sets. In this respect, a new methodology is introduced to figure out how picture fuzzy numbers can be applied to CODAS method. COmbinative Distance-based Assessment (CODAS) is a new MCDM method proposed by Ghorabaee et al. Picture fuzzy sets (PFSs) are a new extension of ordinary fuzzy sets for representing human's judgments having possibility more than two answers such as yes, no, refusal and neutral. Compared with other studies, the proposed method integrates multi-criteria decision analysis with picture fuzzy uncertainty based on Euclidean and Taxicab distances and negative ideal solution. ERP system selection problem is handled as the application area of the developed method, picture fuzzy CODAS. Results indicate that the new proposed method finds meaningful rankings through picture fuzzy sets. Comparative analyzes show that the presented method gives successful and robust results for the solutions of MCDM problems under fuzziness.Öğe Evaluation of AI-Based Accessibility Technologies for Disabled Higher Education Students Using Fuzzy Cocoso Method(IGI Global, 2025) Kamber, ErenThis study examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the education of students with disabilities and provides a comprehensive assessment of how these technologies can transform educational processes. Also, the study explores the impact of AI- based technologies such as speech recognition, text- to- speech, and automated captioning systems in increasing accessibility for students with disabilities. In evaluating AI- based technologies tailored to the educational needs of students with disabilities, multi- criteria decision- making methods such as fuzzy logic and the Fuzzy CoCoSo method were utilized. The analysis results demonstrate that these technologies contribute substantially to enhancing students’ learning motivation, supporting academic success, and developing independent mobility skills. This study addresses the contributions of AI to educational accessibility from a perspective of social justice and equity and offers recommendations for the effective use of AIsupported accessibility technologies in this field. © 2025 by IGI Global Scientific Publishing.Öğe INDUSTRY 4.0 AWARENESS IN TURKEY(Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy Üniversitesi, 2019) Kamber, Eren; Bolatan, Gülin İdil SönmeztürkProduction systems are beginning to include technological developments rapidly with the fourth industrial revolution, which is defined as Industry 4.0 in the literature. The new revolution beginning with using the Internet in production effectively will be realized by integrating information technologies and cyber physical systems (CPS), Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent factories and other Industry 4.0 components into the production systems. Industry 4.0, which started under the leadership of developed countries, is seen to be included in the future planning of the countries, and it is seen that the regulations and practices for new systems in the goverment industrial workforce have started. In this respect, Industry 4.0 perspective and the current technological level of Turkey's manufacturing industry was examined on the scope of work. With the Industry 4.0 awareness survey prepared by reaching 202 participants working in the production industry, the sectoral differences in the view of Industry 4.0 were determined, and the opinions of the participants were taken according to the Industry 4.0 knowledge level. 4 hypotheses were created in parallel with the prepared questionnaire and hypotheses were analyzed statistically. Differences in the point of view of Industry 4.0 were found on a sectoral basis. In addition, it was seen that Industry 4.0 awareness changes according to Industry 4.0 knowledge levels and whether there is a study about Industry 4.0 in their firms. Participants considered the transition to Industry 4.0, but stated that existing knowledge, information and technological infrastructures in the transition to new technologies would not be sufficient.Öğe Prioritization of drip-irrigation pump alternatives in agricultural applications: An integrated picture fuzzy BWM&CODAS methodology(Elsevier, 2024) Kamber, Eren; Aydogmus, Ufuk; Aydogmus, Hacer Yumurtaci; Guemues, Mehmet; Kahraman, CengizOne of the irrigation methods is drip irrigation, for which selecting the right pump has a significant impact. In this study, the process of choosing the appropriate pump for drip irrigation is regarded as a multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problem. The objective is to enhance productivity and minimize water consumption in agricultural areas by addressing the drip-irrigation pump-selection problem. Making decisions under uncertainty is a complex task, especially when dealing with intricate problems where complexity raises concerns about finding more dependable solutions. Fuzzy extensions of MCDM methods are designed to tackle such intricate and detailed problems compared to traditional MCDM methods. Therefore, we propose and implement a Picture Fuzzy CODAS (PF-CODAS) method to address the issue of drip-irrigation pump selection under vagueness, utilizing expert opinions. In comparison to other MCDM methods, our suggested approach combines multi-criteria decision analysis with picture fuzzy hesitancy and a negative ideal solution, supported by Euclidean and Taxicab distances. Furthermore, we present an integrated approach that uses the Best Worst Method (BWM) to determine criterion weights and the PF-CODAS method for ranking alternatives. Among these service areas, Cleaning Services Works and their working areas have taken a more important place. The importance and value given to Occupational Health and Safety have also increased with an increase in the working areas and the initiation of a new set of machines to be used. The purpose of this research is to determine the dangers and risks that may be encountered in the working areas of cleaning works operated by local administrations. While doing the research, field studies and all departments were examined. In the examined parts; what kind of dangers there may be, the precautions that can be taken against these dangers, and how to minimize the danger source if the source of danger cannot be eliminated has been determined. As a result of these examinations, the legal legislation was taken as a basis and recommendations were made. L Type Matrix method was used in the risk assessment table prepared. This study covered employees who may face physical, chemical, ergonomic, mechanical, psycho-social risk factors that have been studied to be determined by observing in the work area. Suggestions were made to improve working conditions and health levels. The Risk analysis report submitted has contributed to occupational Occupational Health and Safety studies.Öğe SELECTION OF TECHNOLOGY ALTERNATIVES TO OVERCOME REVERSE LOGISTICS BARRIERS AND RANKING THEM ACCORDING TO THEIR IMPORTANCE: APPLICATION OF FUZZY PSI AND COCOSO METHODS(TMMOB Makina Mühendisleri Odası, 2025) Kamber, ErenThis study evaluates the selection process of technology alternatives aimed at overcoming barriers in reverse logistics processes. The literature underscores the critical role of reverse logistics applications in sustainable supply chain management, yet operational, economic, and regulatory challenges complicate their implementation. In this context, the study identifies reverse logistics barriers through a comprehensive literature review and analyzes potential technological solutions using fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods. The study employs the fuzzy Preference Selection Index (PSI) method for weighting the criteria and the fuzzy Combined Compromise Solution (CoCoSo) method for ranking technology alternatives. Conducting analyses within the framework of fuzzy logic enables a more realistic evaluation of alternatives in decision-making processes involving uncertainty. The findings indicate that Industry 4.0 technologies provide the most effective solution for reverse logistics processes. Automation systems, artificial intelligence-assisted logistics management, and smart storage solutions enhance the efficiency of reverse logistics operations, fostering a more sustainable framework. The study demonstrates that technological solutions in reverse logistics not only improve operational efficiency but also reduce costs, optimize waste management, and contribute to sustainable supply chain management. By offering a comprehensive analysis for decision-makers, this research makes a significant contribution to the literature by illustrating the application of fuzzy MCDM methods in reverse logistics.Öğe Türkiye'de endüstri 4.0 farkındalığı(Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat Üniversitesi, 2019) Kamber, Eren; Bolatan, Gülin İdil SönmeztürkLiteratürde Endüstri 4.0 olarak tanımlanan dördüncü endüstri devrimi ile birlikte, üretim sistemleri teknolojik gelişme ve ilerlemeleri hızlı bir şekilde içerisinde barındırmaya başlamaktadır. Üretimde internetin etkin kullanımı düşüncesiyle başlayan yeni devrim süreci bilgi, bilişim teknolojileri ve siber fiziksel sistemler (CPS), nesnelerin interneti (IoT), akıllı fabrikalar ve diğer Endüstri 4.0 bileşenlerinin üretim sistemlerine entegre edilmesiyle gerçekleştirilecektir. Gelişmiş ülkelerin öncülüğünde başlayan Endüstri 4.0'ın ülkelerin gelecek planlamalarında yer aldığı görülmekte, devlet sanayi işbiliğinde yeni sistemlere uygun düzenlemelerin ve uygulamaların başladığı görülmektedir. Ülkemizde ise devlet politikaları bazında benzer çalışmaların başladığı söylenebilmektedir. Bu çalışmalara ek olarak, sanayinin de Endüstri 4.0 uygulamaları için hazırlanması gerekmektedir. Bu doğrultuda, çalışma kapsamında Türkiye üretim endüstrisinin mevcut teknolojik durumu ve Endüstri 4.0'a bakış açısı incelenmiştir. Ülke çapında üretim endüstrisinde çalışan 202 katılımcıya ulaşılarak, Endüstri 4.0 farkındalık anketi ile Endüstri 4.0'a bakış açısındaki sektörel farklılıklar belirlenmiş, Endüstri 4.0 bilgi seviyesine göre katılımcıların görüşleri alınmıştır. Hazırlanan anket paralelinde 13 hipotez oluşturulmuş, hipotezler istatiksel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Sektörel bazda Endüstri 4.0'a bakış açısındaki farklılıklar bulunmuştur. Ayrıca, katılımcıların Endüstri 4.0 bilgi seviyelerine ve firmalarında Endüstri 4.0 ile ilgili çalışma yapılıp yapılmamasına göre Endüstri 4.0 farkındalıklarının değiştiği görülmüştür. Katılımcılar Endüstri 4.0'a geçişi gerekli görmüş, fakat yeni teknolojileri geçişte mevcut işletme bilgi, bilişim, teknolojik altyapılarının yeterli olmayacağını belirtmiştir.Öğe Yapay Sinir Ağlarına Dayalı Kısa Dönemli Elektrik Yükü Tahmini(2021) Kamber, Eren; Körpüz, Sencer; Can, Melih; Yumurtacı Aydoğmuş, Hacer; Gümüş, MehmetGünümüzün vazgeçilemez unsurlarından olan elektrik enerjisi için kısa dönemli elektrik tahminleri, son yıllarda yüksek öneme sahip konular arasında yer almaktadır. Elektrik üretimi ile talebin dengelenebilmesi için elektrik talep fiyatlarının doğru tahmin edilmesi önemlidir. Söz konusu denge kurulabildiği takdirde tüketicilere rekabetçi fiyatlar sunulabilmektedir. Elektrik talebinde doğru tahminler yapabilmek için literatürde bazı teknikler kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, söz konusu tekniklerden yapay sinir ağını (YSA) uzun kısa dönemli bellek (Long Short-Term Memory - LSTM) mimarisiyle çalıştırarak kısa süreli elektrik talep tahmininde bulunmaktır. YSA metodolojisinin uygulanmasıyla elde edilen sonuçlar kök ortalama kare hatası değerlerine göre zaman serisi analizi (ARIMA) ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu bağlamda, İspanya'nın 2015-2016 yılları arasındaki elektrik verileri tahminleme yapmak için kullanılmıştır. Elektrik enerjisi üretim ve tüketim verileri, İletim Hizmeti Operatörü (TSO) verilerini içeren ve açık erişimli bir portal olan ENTSOE'den toplanmıştır.
