Tekstil malzemelerindeki gelişmelerden de etkilenerek deri yapısından bağımsız olarak çok farklı ürün gamlarına doğru eğrilmiştir. Modanın tamamlayıcısıyken kendi başına bir moda olmuştur. Buzul Çağı’na dayanan keçe ve deri geçmişiyle insanlık tarihinin vazgeçilmez bir parçasını olan ayakkabı günümüzde moda, siyaset, sanat gibi her türlü akımdan etkilenerek sınırsız bir tasarıma dönüşmüştür. Bu derleme çalışmanın ana amacı genel olarak; ayakkabı tanımı, kullanılan malzemeler, sektör hacmi ve günümüzün gerekliliklerinden sürdürülebilirlik perspektifinde ayakkabının tanımlanmasıdır.Footwear; it has become a tool that provides comfort by protecting human beings from harsh conditions and today, beyond that, it has become a tool that is shaped according to the place of use and fashion.
