These nanomodified composites attracted considerable interest in many applications including wind turbines, automotive, and aeronautics due to their strength, rigidity, lightweight, and potential multifunctionality. This chapter focuses on the nanoengineered fiber-reinforced polymeric composites. The aim is to present and collect the results of published studies with a specific focus on the mechanical response of nanoengineered fiber-reinforced composites and identify new trends in this area. Different nanomaterials, including nanoparticles and nanofibers, with high potentials to enhance the mechanical properties of fiber-reinforced composites are introduced covering their synthesis, processing, integration methods, and resulting mechanical and physical properties. © 2020 Elsevier Inc.
