Identifying the factors, contributing to competitive advantages, is crucial for hospitality companies that wish to succeed, grow and be present in a competitive market. In this context, this study aims to examine the effect professionalization has on competitive advantage in hospitality businesses, mediated by organizational resilience. Having adopted a quantitative research method, the study utilized convenience sampling and questionnaires to collect data. Managers from the five-star hospitality businesses in Alanya and Manavgat provided the data for the study. In total, 414 questionnaires were collected for the analyses. According to the findings, acquired from the structural model, professionalization positively predicts organizational resilience and competitive power, while organizational resilience also does the same for competitive power. Furthermore, the relationship between professionalization and competitive power is fully mediated by organizational resilience. In general, the results of the study show that qualified managers and employees play key roles in acquiring competitive power by improving organizational resilience.
